In Vivo IPL 2018 Virat Kohli became the only man who was going to play for the same franchise for the 11th time, Royal Challengers Bangalore retained Indian captain for INR 17 crore (most for any player). Now when IPL 11 has started he is the only player who is featuring for the same team for 11th time,.
Until last year IPL there were three players who played for the same franchise for ten seasons of the IPL, one of them is obviously Virat Kohli for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the other two were Harbhajan Singh for Mumbai Indians and Shaun Marsh for Kings XI Punjab. Now that Harbhajan is picked up by Chennai Super Kings and Shaun Marsh went unsold in this year auction, Virat Kohli is the lone man to play for the same franchise this year too. There are few others who have been with only one franchise but they haven’t featured in all the seasons.

Steady and performing
Virat Kohli made his IPL debut way back in 2008, he had two back to back quiet seasons with the bat scoring 165 in the first and 246 in the second season after quiet starts he went onto score 307 in the 3rd season and from there he did not look back. He was the only player to be retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2011 auctions and he responded with 557 runs in the season and was soon given with the responsibility of captaincy when Daniel Vettori retired. But his finest hour during his IPL career arrived in the 2016 edition where he scored 973 runs with four inspiring hundreds and also won the orange cap for scoring most runs that season. He has accumulated 4418 runs at an average of 37.22 in his ipl career and now the skipper would like to reverse the fortunes of the team especially after the poor last edition.
