When we get to hear the term rain, monsoon comes in our mind. After experiencing scorching summer monsoon brings great relief in the form of rain. People eagerly wait for the rain during the hot days of summer. In India the monsoon runs from June to September. In the capital of India it starts from 15th June-1st July and withdrawals on 15th September to 1st October.

In India there are mainly four seasons- Winter (January-February), Pre-Monsoon or Summer (March-May), Monsoon(June-September) and Post-Monsoon(October-December). The season Monsoon is also referred as South West Monsoon.

Although minor rainfall occurs throughout the year but bulker rainfall of a year receives in Monsoon. Over 75% of the annual rainfall occurs in this season. The annual rainfall of India is 1083.2 mm; among which Winter, Pre-Monsoon, Monsoon and Post-Monsoon receive 17.9 mm, 130.3 mm, 864.4 mm and 70.6 mm rainfall respectively.

The onset and withdrawal date of Monsoon is not the same for all over India. Nature does not behave according to the regional division of land. Various geographical reasons inspire the changes in nature’s action. Therefore the calculation of nature’s activities according to the imaginary boundaries is quite difficult. Determining specific dates of its disposition is really a tough job. Following is the table of content made by the help of a government portal for people’s ease.
