Mohammed Shami became fastest Indian bowler to 100 wickets in first one day international match of India tour of New Zealand 2018/19. He broke 12 year old record of Irfan Pathan.
The achievement of Shami became shinning as he became man of match for his 19 for 3 in 6 overs. This included wickets of openers Guptil (5) and Munro (8) which gave India an early breakthrough. New Zealand later collapsed to 157.
Along with Shami spinners Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal and well settled batting unit gifted India their first win in an ODI in New Zealand since 2009.
Score in brief: India 156 for 2 (Dhawan 75*) beat New Zealand 157 (Williamson 64, Kuldeep 4-39, Shami 3-19) by eight wickets (DLS method).
